The Andorra-based telecom operator becomes one of the first companies in the to use Vitria Technology’s new SOA platform
Madrid, September 05, 2007 – Servei de Telecomunicacions d’Andorra (STA), Andorra’s state-owned telecom company, is relying on Vitria Technology to evolve its existing Network Enablement and Inventory, as well as subsequent projects requiring a SOA approach with j2EE (Java 2 Enterprise Edition) applications.
Specifically, STA has selected Vitria’s new flagship product, Business Accelerator, for its SOA implementation. It is the industry’s first open, agnostic enterprise-class integration suite built from the ground up for Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) and Event-Driven Architecture (EDA).
Business Accelerator aligns today’s business need for speed with IT’s need to implement the “right” technology. It offers the freedom of choice and flexibility to build a best-of-breed solution by leveraging Vitria’s proven expertise in business process integration software, technology capabilities provided by a number of industry-leading partners, as well as the customer’s existing infrastructure.
Albert Pubill, Director of Information Systems at STA, said: “Vitria’s Business Accelerator delivers significant benefits for us, both technological and commercial. The solution smoothes the integration and standardisation of service-oriented developments, acting as catalyst in the launch of new products for or customers, significantly reducing times-to-market and simplifying our IT architecture and infrastructure”.
Commenting on the announcement, Guy Bouchon, Managing Director, Vitria in Spain, said: “As an agnostic solution, Business Accelerator empowers STA and other customers to lower their total cost of ownership by leveraging existing investments in infrastructure software to integrate services, events, applications, automated processes and human workflow, thereby protecting the customer’s spend”.
With this agreement, STA becomes one of the first customers in the world to implement Vitria’s new Business Accelerator platform. STA’s decision is further proof of its trust in Vitria, to which it has successfully entrusted its integration solutions – based on the well-known Vitria BusinessWare platform – for four years.
